After the tender for the GSM 1800 license was awarded to Icecell ehf by the PTA, Union Vector will further increase its stake in the company. An Agreement to this effect has been signed between Union Vector Technologies Sdn Bhd and Bebbicell AG, which will give up parts of the ownership in Icecell ehf to Union Vector. The PTA regulator has been informed about the transaction and granted its permission.
Union Vector will also provide Icecell with major parts and components of the backbone infrastructure as well as the entire messaging technology and telecom carrier software solutions.
Icecell ehf represents only the latest addition to the Union Vector customers list, which already includes major regional telecommunications operators, online portals, regional banks and major financial institutions.

Swiss BebbiCell AG and Union Vector Technologies Sdn Bhd jointly tendered through IceCell ehf for a GSM 1800 license in Iceland. On June 28, Icecell ehf was awarded the license for the operation of the newest mobile GSM network in Iceland.
"Our exciting new price plans will help revolutionize the Icelandic mobile market making mobile communication much more affordable to end users. The enhancement in end user services we can provide to IceCell will also provide our customers with a feature rich mobile experience", said Harald Lang, CTO of Union Vector.
"The award of the tender will help lift Union Vector into a new playing field. This demonstrates our versatility and quest to bring value to our customers", said Mr Goh Wei Sing, CEO of Union Vector Technologies.
